International Cultural week at Sunnybrae Normal

Some of the children in Room 2 dressed up in their national costumes from The Philipines, China, Korea, Tonga, India, Hong Kong and from Japan. The costumes were bright and colourful. The school had a costume parade.
We learnt how to count and say some words in different languages. Rose and Sophie taught us some Chinese. Millie and Annie taught us some Cantonese. Priyanka taught us some Hindi.
Mrs Naran’s son showed the junior school how to play an Indian instrument called the Tabla. Mrs Naran showed us how to put on a Sari which is an Indian costume. The sari was long. We learnt that it was 6 metres long. It was sparkly and shiny.
At lunch time we did some fun things like origami and Rangoli patterns in the junior playground.
We did some inquiry learning about another country. We worked in small groups and used the internet to help us. We learnt lots of interesting things about other countries.
